Just setting the record straight, :v and :3 are aped from the Something Awful forums (because, as was stated, Putnam is/was a Goon). :v isn't really Pac-Man, it's more of a retard smiley. Imagine it saying O HAI GUYZ and you'll get the point. :3 is the "cute smiley", I think taken from some anime or something. Either that or a cat's face. Use appropriately.

Click on Facebook's background (the white bit) and press: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right (as in the arrows on your keyboard), b, a, enter, then click on the screen or start typing.

oh, you can make text in bold as well! by using the * symbol.
you place 2 * symbols and the text in between - e.g. *amazing*

And you can underline by using 2 _ symbols (underscore).
e.g. _amazing_

It doesn't show an ACTUAL easter egg. An easter egg is just a general term for anything online (or in a video game or something) that is hidden. The fact that the face emoticon was hidden and could only be accessed by the ":putnum:" typing, makes it an "easter egg"...

its a pipe sign its the same key as the backslash except u use shift for the pipe sign. i know u probably dont care but the pipe sign was used for the old MS-DOS commands for directories if i remember correctly

There's a much easier way to figure out the codes for the emoticons than the one that you cite. Simply copy the image out of the shat window and paste it anywhere where one can input text. That's the simpler method that we mere mortals utilize.

well tell me what kind of keyboard do you have? English, french,...? i guess its an english keyboard so the numbers are directly accessible (without using shift) now fn, or function key is to be used alone with any of the F keys at the top and usually only on a laptop... they arent quite relevent in typing emoticons...
